William "Mickey" Oran, age 77, a resident of Rockwood, Tennessee went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was born on May 15, 1949, in Harriman, Tennessee.
Mickey found his greatest joy in his family, his church, singing for the Lord, and spending time fishing and gardening alongside his beloved wife, Sheila. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life reflected unwavering faith, kindness, and love. A faithful member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Lancing, Tennessee, Mickey lived his life as a testament to his deep love for Jesus Christ.
He left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Mickey will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and the joy he shared so freely with others. His legacy is one of love—for his family, his friends, his church, and, above all, his Lord and Savior.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. W. F. Oran and Lorene Oran, and his sisters, Lois Longmire and Caroline Stairs.
Mickey is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sheila (Jones) Oran; his daughters, Monica (Oran) Miller and husband, Stevie Miller, of Oakdale, and Melody (Oran) Nance and husband, Aaron Nance, of Wartburg. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Colby (Melanie) Miller, Luke (Sonny) Miller, Karlie (Andrew) Taylor, Blake Miller, Jacob (Jayden) Nance, and Kyle Miller; his beloved great-grandchildren, Trace Miller, Brynley Taylor, Tatum Miller, and Charlie Jo Miller; and his soon-to-arrive great-grandson, Elijah Taylor.
He is further survived by his brother, David (Barbara) Oran; his sister, Jerry Lou (Larry) Faulkner; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Although Mickey will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, his family finds comfort in the assurance that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior. His legacy of faith, love, and compassion will continue to live on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved so dearly.
