Willene Porter

d. March 16, 2021

Willene Porter passed away on March 14, 2021 at her home in Rockwood, TN.  She was born October 30, 1939 in Crab Orchard, TN.

She was quite the basketball player in her youth and often looked back fondly at that time.  She worked at Big K/Wal-Mart in Crossville, TN for 21 years as well as at Dr. Krusa’s dental office in Crossville.

She enjoyed the outdoors and often could be found working in her yard, which she was very proud of.  She also enjoyed riding her 4-wheeler for many years.

She always wanted to go to Italy and finally did so with her entire family in 2010. We all still talk about that trip as “The Clampetts Going to Italy”.

She loved to cook for her family and always enjoyed when the family would come together for a meal, special occasions and the holidays.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leebert Kindred and Geneva MondayMcClellan, her first husband, Clarence Turner, her sisters Jean Kindred and Rita Johnson, and her brother LeRoy Kindred.

Survivors include her loving husband, Tommy Porter, her children who were so blessed to have her as their mother, Gary Turner(Kim) of Lawrenceville, GA, Lisa Turner(Greg) of Basye, VA, Greg Turner(Paula) of Nashville, TN, Lori King(Michael) of Baton Rouge, LA and Kristina Perkins(Jason) of Rockwood, her grandchildren, Nick Pittelkau(Liz), Savannah Henderson(Stephen), Andrew Turner, Luke Turner and Taylor Perkins, her great-grandchildren, Reed Pittelkau, Nico Pittelkau and Tessa Pittelkau, her nephew, Tim Johnson and a very special “Thank You” to her niece, Christa Naegele, who she loved like one of her own children.  Christa was with her much of the last few weeks, along with Tommy,  making her feel loved and comfortable.

No funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to American Cancer Society.
