Willene Gordon Griffin

Our beloved mother, Willene Gordon Griffin of Harriman, TN, passed away on Friday night, February 20, 2025, at her home in Harriman. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Bill and Velma Gordon; her sister Jimmie Simmons; brothers Willie Lee (Brother), Michael (Sonny), and Vance Gordon; and grandson Malachi Griffin, along with Herbert Griffin Sr., the father of their children.

She leaves behind her daughters, Mary (Dale) Fuqua (husband Steve), Peachis Griffin, and the tribe of Judea, Marion Jackson (husband Lewis), Vicki Dye (husband Jamil), Jill Johnson (husband Keith), and son Louis Griffin Jr. (wife Cyndi). Her grandchildren include Kecia Gallaher, Anthony Griffin, Marcus Fuqua, Devin King, Ashley Griffin, Shantiel Crawley, Jonathan Fuqua, Kiera Griffin, Kalen Walker, Landon Griffin, and great-grandchildren Daysha Aslinger, Kiari Fuqua, Ava Griffin, Maleigha Hall, Jordan Fuqua, Veda Loy, Natalia (Tallie Mae) Fuqua, Sias King, and Nala Griffin. She also leaves her sisters, Sallie M. Collier and Carolyn Phillips, and her brothers, Eugene Gordon (wife Karen) and Tony Gordon (wife Judy), along with numerous nephews and nieces, and her devoted friend Margaret Ruth Collier—special thanks to her care teams, Quality Private Duty Care (Donna Alcorn, Tonya Porter, Brittany Hutchinson), and Amedisys.

Willene worked at Y12 from June 26, 1978, to October 16, 1992. She was passionate about bowling and enjoyed knitting and crocheting in her free time,

Family and friends will meet on Thursday, September 25th, 2025, at 2:00 pm ET in the Roane Memorial Gardens for a small homegoing service, followed by graveside services. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Willene G. Griffin.
