Mrs. Virginia Ellen "Ginny" Riddle, age 94, formerly of the Dogwood Community in Rockwood, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the Jamestowne Assisted Living in Kingston. She was born on August 27, 1931, in Cumberland County. She was a member of the Dogwood Baptist Church in the Dogwood community of Grandview.
Virginia, affectionately known as Ginny, was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, whose love and commitment to her family were at the heart of everything she did. Her culinary talents shone brightly in her kitchen, where she created delicious meals and baked pies that brought joy and comfort to her loved ones.
Ginny had a green thumb, finding peace and happiness in her garden, nurturing plants and flowers that reflected her nurturing spirit. She also had an eye for design, pouring her creativity into decorating her home, creating warm and inviting spaces filled with love.
Her legacy of love, devotion, and creativity will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Walter Rufus & Mary Leona DeRossett; husband: Arthur Ulys Riddle; 2 children: Ronald and Donald Riddle; Sisters: Viola Hayes, Faye Russell, Addie Sue Garren, Mary Kate Sherrill, and Betty DeRossett; Brothers: Vernon "Buddy" DeRossett and Vonley DeRossett; brothers-in-law: Arnold Hayes, Junior Russell, Edward Garren and Ira Sherrill; sisters-in-law: Margie DeRossett, Mildred DeRossett; and several of nieces and nephews.
She is survived by:

10 Great Grandchildren: Cheyenne (Drake) Parker, Cody Watson; Anna (Alex), Joseph (Amelia), Knox, Brody, and Blair Summers; Samuel, Isaac, & Townes Layton
Great-Great Grandchildren: Bonnie & Charleigh Parker
Sister: Joann (Richard) Garren and a host of extended family members and friends.
The family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Jamestowne Assisted Living and the staff of UT Hospice. Their compassionate care and support to our mother made a significant difference, and we are forever grateful.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 18th, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 pm ET at the Dogwood Baptist Church in the Dogwood Community of Grandview, TN. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm ET with Pastor Wesley Strickland officiating. Graveside and interment will follow in the Dogwood Baptist Church Cemetery. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mrs. Virginia Ellen "Ginny" Riddle.
