Virgie Lee Miles Watson

Virgie Lee Miles Watson, aged 97, of Rockwood Tennessee went peacefully to her eternal home December 21, 2025. She was a lifelong resident of Rockwood. The majority of her career was acting as the HR Specialist for Burlington Hosiery Mill. She was a student at Rockwood High School where she graduated with honors. She and her husband Edward were bowling enthusiasts and made many lifelong friends from their bowling leagues. In her spare time, she loved to knit, crochet, and sew. She attended First Baptist Church of Rockwood and exhibited her faith through the way she lived her life. She loved most everyone she ever met, loved her husband, her family, and especially adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Watson; parents Odie and Celia Miles; siblings, Glen Miles, and Nellie Russell; nephews and nieces, Danny Miles, Darlene Miles, Jack Miles, Tim Stout, Nancy (Stout) Anderson, and Eddie Russell

She is survived by her son and his wife: David and Sue Watson

Sister: Dorothy Stout

Nephews and Nieces: Renee (Stout) Kittrell, Kim (Russell) Murphy, Mike Kindrick, Shirley Kendrick Stembridge, Robert Kindrick, Randy Anderson, and Carol Stout

Grandchildren: Trevor Braylon and Sarepta Watson, Adam Watson, Amanda Watson Jeffers, John and Abigail (Watson) Miller, Ashton and Ceilidh (Watson) Anderson, Zach and Nabrin (Noor) Watson, Elijah

and Lizzie (Smoot) Watson, Kyle Owen, and Ashlyn Own

Great Grandchildren: Dakota Cote, Phoenix Cote, Levi Cote, Quentin O’Reilly, Liam Watson, Kaleb Watson, Raelyn Jeffers, Ellie Jeffers, Ponciana Watson, Nola Miller, and Graham Miller.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) until 2:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) at the Evans Mortuary. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Pastor Drew Stockton officiating. Committal services and interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood, Tennessee. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Rockwood.
