Samuel Richard "Sam" Bazel

Mr. Samuel Richard “Sam” Bazel, age 90, a resident of Harriman, Tennessee passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He was born December 6, 1932, in Harriman, Tennessee. Mr. Bazel was Retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant, serving 1952-1976, during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Following his retirement from the miliary, Mr. Bazel entered the civilian work force and again retired from Lockheed Martin as General Contractor after 20 years of service. He was an avid Tennessee Volunteer Fan, especially football and basketball. He enjoyed gardening, and always had “a project” going. He was well known for his smoked meats, especially ribs and chicken. Most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Mr. Bazel was preceded in death by his father, Jake Edward Bazel; mother, Lennie Inez Eskridge; brothers, James Edward Bazel and Douglas Lee Bazel.

Daughter:             Coletta Roberts (Tommy Brown) of TX

Grandchildren:        Alyrea Bazel of TX
                                Alexandria Roberts (Jontrell Lee) of TX
                                Samara Roberts of TN

Great Grandchildren:        Makeda Bazel, Malaya Bazel, Nicah Roberts, and Makeal Bazel

Great-Great Grandson:    I’zayah Bazel

Sister:                Joann Palmer of Harriman, TN

And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many special friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. from the Evans Mortuary. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Pastor Willie Gallaher officiating. Committal services and interment will follow in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood, Tennessee with full military honors by the U.S. Air Force. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Tennessee.
