Mr. Robert Lee “Bob” Easter, age 91, a resident of the New Hope community of Rockwood, Tennessee went Home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 17, 2026, from his home. He was born October 16, 1934, in Rockwood, Tennessee. He was a member of the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Easter was a Cattle Farmer, something he did since about the age of eight, and was a member of the Roane County Farm Bureau. He loved his cows, raising corn and tobacco, cutting hay, and raising a garden just to give away. He was also formerly employed as a Boarder at Roane Hosiery in Harriman, at the U.S. Department of Energy K-25 Barrier Plant, and as Security Officer at the U.S. Department of Energy Y-12 Facility. He enjoyed baseball and softball, playing baseball for the New Hope team, Church League softball for the Caney Ford team, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves, and was an accomplished Pitcher and Center Fielder. He was known as the “Unofficial Veterinarian” of New Hope, often helping his neighbors with sick or injured animals. He was also known as the “Official Mayor” of New Hope a title he inherited from his brothers who had held the position before, and was passed on to him when they passed. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving as a M.P. Most of all Bob dearly loved his family, was a Devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Brother. He was a caregiver his entire life, especially for his mother and wife. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus & Maggie Easter; wife, Wonda Crass Easter, and all of his siblings whom he loved very much and was very close to especially after the passing of his father at an early age. His siblings are Herman Easter, Wesley Easter who was Killed in Action in WWII, Floyd “Taud” Easter, Rev. Frank “Spank” Easter, Iola “Sis” Devaney Lewis, Lola “Bea” Pershing, Gustave Easter, Margie Pelfrey, and Irene “Weince” Lands. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sam & Nadean Crass, and brothers-in-law, Kenneth Crass, and Wayne Crass.

Karen Easter Scercy (Robert) of China Grove, NC

Rob Easter of Rockwood, TN

Granddaughter: Jessica Herndon (William)

Great Granddaughters, whom he was very proud of: Lesi Smith of Rockwood, TN

Aria Herndon of Rockwood, TN

Best Friend and Farming Partner: Bill Davis of Rockwood, TN

Special Friend: Eddie Leffew of Lenoir City, TN

And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 21, 2026, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Funeral services will follow on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Bro. Bill Brown, Rev. Robert Scercy, and Michelle Knight officiating. Committal services and interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood, Tennessee. Evans Mortuary of Rockwood, Tennessee is honored to serve the family of Mr. Robert Lee “Bob” Easter.
