Rhonda K. Benefield

Rhonda K. Benefield, born on December 12, 1959, went home to be with her Lord on September 21, 2026, at Roane Medical Center.

Rhonda was a dedicated Christian and attended Mt. Vernal Baptist Church. She worked at Rockwood Walmart for 35 years before retiring. During that time, she became a familiar, loving face to many in the community.

Rhonda especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved fur babies, Raven and Sally. She also enjoyed camping and traveling with her best friend and love of her life, Paul. Whether she was in a cabin or on the beach she always cherished time with family.

Rhonda will be remembered for the abundance of love she shared with her family, the friendships she cherished, and the many years she spent as part of the Rockwood community. She will be deeply missed.

The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the Staff of Roane Medical Center in Harriman for their exceptional compassionate care for Rhonda.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Clower of Rockwood, Tennessee.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Benefield; her children, Jessica Roddy (Troy Couto) of Ohio, Josh Hicks of Rockwood, and Rachel Hicks of Rockwood; her grandchildren, Zoe Singleton and her husband Alden, Jayce Hicks, Victoria Hicks, and Jaxon Lively; her mother, Vivian Lawerence; and her sister, Jeri Burchianti (Randy). She also leaves behind her special friends, Tammy Norman, Theresa Russell, and Zonia Kindred.

Private Graveside services for family, close friends, and church family will be held in the Mt. Vernal Baptist Church Cemetery in Cumberland County, Tennessee with Bro. Derek Stewart officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Vernal Baptist Church. Evans Mortuary of Rockwood, Tennessee is honored to serve  the family of Rhonda K. Benefield.
