Mrs. Ruth Ann Walker

Mrs. Ruth Ann Walker, age 77, a resident of Kingston, Tennessee passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville, Tennessee. She was born August 18, 1943 in Michigan. Mrs. Walker was an active member of Luminary United Methodist Church for over 35 years, working in various capacities in the church including being a part of the Barnabas Ministry, the church Sewing Circle, and part of the Relay for Life. Ruth Ann graduated from Trenton High School in Trenton, Michigan; and then earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Bethel Christian College in Indiana. While at college, she was a cheerleader, and after graduation was a Physical Education Teacher and Coach. After moving to Tennessee, Ruth Ann served as the Day Program Coordinator for the Ridgeview Mental Health Facility in Harriman, Tennessee. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them, and watching her sons and grandsons compete in athletics. Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Leon & Ruth Fobar; brother, Don Minier; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Gerald H. & Sidonia Walker.

Sisters-in-law:                                      Ethel Decker of Woodhaven, MI

                                                                Stella Walker of Riverview, MI

And many other special relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Luminary United Methodist Church; 3401 River Road, Ten Mile, TN 37880. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. from the Luminary United Methodist Church with Pastor Wayne Hedrick officiating. The CDC Covid-19 recommendations of face coverings and social distancing will be followed. Private family interment will be held at a later date.
