Mildred Jean Grigsby Allen

Mrs. Mildred Jean Grigsby Allen, age 92, a resident of the Paint Rock community of Roane County, Tennessee passed away Monday, December 16, 2024. She was born March 25, 1932, in Roane County, Tennessee. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Tennessee Chapel Baptist Church and was Past Worthy Matron of the Paint Rock Chapter # 454 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) with many years of service at the former Johnson’s Nursing Home in Harriman and later in home healthcare. Most of all she was devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Earnest “Gene” Allen; parents, Albert & Myrtle Grigsby; brother & sister-in-law, Denver Grigsby (Joyce); and sisters and brother-in-law, Lucille Barr (James) and Dorothy Parham.

Grandchildren & Spouses: Steven & Wendy Bales, Christy & Preston Moore; and Travis & Jordan Allen

Great Grandchildren & Spouses: Mathew & Alisa Bales, Dakota Bales, Sierra Dotson, Lakyn Moore, Chloe & Richard Carpenter, Parker Allen, Cooper Allen, Coleman Allen, and Seth & Alex Colyer

And several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Tennessee Chapel Baptist Church, 546 Tennessee Chapel Circle, Kingston, (Paint Rock) TN 37763. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. from the Tennessee Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Neal Turner officiating. Committal services and interment will follow in the Tennessee Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Kingston (Paint Rock), Tennessee. Evans Mortuary of Rockwood, Tennessee is serving the family of Mrs. Mildred Jean Grigsby Allen.
