Mary Alice Hommel

Mary Alice Hommel, age 83 of Rockwood, formerly of Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 5th, 2026, at her home in the Grande Vista Bay community of Rockwood. She was born on September 10th, 1942, in Wilmington, North Carolina. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, was her favorite thing to do. She worked for over 30 years as an LPN with the Geisinger Healthcare Company before retirement. She grew up in Pennsylvania, where she was a huge Penn State football fan. Her faith was a huge part of her life and she enjoyed her time with her church family over the years and loved the Lord dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents: John W. Hommel & Pauline Zechman Hommel; Daughter-in-law: Teresa Confer; and her siblings: Janet, Johnny, and Marion. She is survived by:

Sons: Michael A. Confer, Timothy L. Confer (Justina)

Daughter: Lisa Murph (Paul)

and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren

along with many extended family members and friends.

Cremation arrangements have been made and a private interment will be held at a later date. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mary Alice Hommel.
