Mary Christine Foland Hughes

Ms. Mary C. Foland Hughes "Tennie", age 89 of Decatur, TN, formerly of Rockwood, TN passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026. She was born on April 25, 1936 in Rockwood, TN. She is the youngest daughter of the late William Harvey Foland and Elizabeth Betty Farmer Foland. She was a long time member of Whites Creek Baptist church in Rockwood, TN. Mary retired from home healthcare after many years of service. As a mother of one, grandmother of two and great-grandmother of two and great-great grandmother of two. She was the heart of the family and before the her declining health, her kitchen was the gathering place for Sunday dinners, all holiday celebrations, and on everyone's birthday they always received a dinner of their favorite foods and a cake. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband of 66 years, James Hughes; sisters: Illine Hughes, Ella May Hughes, and Loyce Whiley. Mary is survived by:

Granddaughter: Christy (Scott) Cagle of Decatur, TN

Great Grandchildren: Courtney (Tyler) Brown of Decatur, TN

Great Great Grandchildren: Abigail and Finnley Brown of Decatur, TN

Numerous nieces and nephew she loved dearly. 

The family will have a graveside service on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 12:00 pm at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Rockwood, TN. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Ms. Mary C. Foland Hughes.
