McKinley "Mac" Gunter

Martin McKinley “Mac” Gunter, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on January 22, 1955, in Rockwood, TN, he was the son of the late Homer and Hazel (Roberts) Gunter. McKinley, a dedicated tradesman and business owner, retired after a career in construction and maintenance. His skilled hands helped shape Tennessee's energy and manufacturing industries, and his work ethic earned him the trust, respect, and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

McKinley’s greatest love was always his family, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed, but his hard work, unwavering support, and protective nature will be cherished forever. His family and friends will never forget his aggravating sense of humor, nor his deep love and devotion, which were evident in everything he did.

He is survived by his wife Vicki of 53 years.

Children: Monica Decker (Chuck), Kendra Bowden (David), and Shane Gunter (Renee Long)

Grandchildren: Blayke Burgess (Levi), Jacob Trey Lawson, Madison Lawson (Curtis Broyles), Kyler Gardner (Tommy), Kayla Blackburn (Ethan), Alex Decker, Blane Gunter, and Kallie Randolph

Great-grandchildren: Henley & Talon Burgess, Lilah Suddath (Lawson), Carter Broyles, and Zealyn & Davina Blackburn

Siblings: Karen Grant, Wilma Thomas, Delores Galyon, Patricia Harvey (Dale), and Derita Lyles (Eddie) 

Special friends: Bobby Letner and Ray Raymond

Many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and other friends (so numerous that it would take two days to list) 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm ET at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm ET. Graveside and internment services will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood following the funeral.
