Larry Marlin Wallace Jr., 66, of Sweetwater, Tennessee, passed away on May 2, 2026, after a long illness. He was born on May 11, 1959, in Richmond, Indiana.
Larry lived a life defined by strength, resilience, and a deep love for his family. He will be remembered not only for the miles he traveled, but for the many talents and passions that made him who he was. In his younger years, Larry had a love for gymnastics and excelled in it, showing both discipline and natural ability. He was also a gifted artist and architect, with a creative mind that allowed him to see and build beauty in the world around him.
Larry enjoyed the simple joys of life—shooting pool, dancing, and spending time doing the things that made him feel alive. He carried a spirit that could be both strong and lighthearted, and those moments of laughter and movement are memories his loved ones will always hold close.
He is survived by his brother, George (Debbie) Delk; his sister, Phyllis (Clint) Manlove; and his daughters, Jessica Updegraff, Sabrina (Ben) Deardorff, Nikki (Aaron) Ivey, Katelyn Johnson, and Morgan Wallace. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will continue to carry his memory forward.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Marlene Delk; his father, Larry (Wallace) Swift; his brother, Mike Wallace; and his sister, Debi Gilland.
Though he may be gone from our sight, Larry’s presence will never truly leave. As the tribute so beautifully reflects, “Those we love don’t go away—they ride beside us every day.” His legacy of love, creativity, and strength will live on in all who knew and loved him.
Cremation arrangements have been made and a private family interment will be held at a later date. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mr. Larry M. Wallace Jr.
