Jennie Dean Hughes Lowe Buck of Sarasota FL, formerly of Rockwood TN, passed away on Friday October 31st, 2025, at the age of 77. Jennie was born on November 8th, 1947, in Rockwood, TN to James and Lottie Hughes.
Jennie enjoyed quilting when she was younger, playing golf and loved to garden. She also enjoyed fishing and camping as well as decorating for the holiday season (especially Christmas). Shopping had to be her favorite hobby, but a good mystery or romance book took the cake. She enjoyed hosting dinners and cooking for her family. She enjoyed travelling and was known as a very stylish lady. She would always dress and fix her hair and makeup no matter the occasion. She deeply loved her family and always enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also was beyond excited to hold her great-great grandchild that is due in February of 2026 as this would be a fifth-generation child in her family, which she was the matriarch too. “Our very own YaYa Sisterhood” as she would always say to us.
She had so much love to give. Her hugs and kisses were the best. Her phrases: “I love you to the moon and back”, “I see the moon and the moon see’s me” will always live on in our hearts and minds. Jennie will be remembered as a strong woman, very friendly, personable and kindhearted. We never met a person who didn’t enjoy being around her. Jennie was and always will be-Mommy, Mom, Momma, Granny, Gran and Grandmother. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and cousin to so many.
Jennie is survived by her daughters: Tina (Ron) Dinkins of Kingston, TN, Julie Lowe Underwood of Rockwood, TN; grandchildren: Heather (Josh) McDaniel of Bradenton, FL, Hayley Dinkins of Kingston, TN, Christopher (Christy) Dinkins of Kingston, TN, Courtney (Darrin) Underwood of Harriman, TN, Makayla McDaniel of Rockwood, TN; great grandchildren: Jaime (Wyatt) Brooks of Bradenton, FL, Jenna (Kholben) of Bradenton, FL; great-great grandchild Saylor Mae Marie Chouchios (due February 2026); special friends and family: Melinda (niece and best friend), Louis (sister-in-law), Rosie and John G; first husband and father of children David F. Lowe and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
