Mr. Harold E. Grigsby of Lenoir City, Tennessee, formerly from Rockwood, Tennessee, passed away at University of Tennessee Medical Center on June 7, 2022, with his family by his side. He was born on September 8, 1939, in Rockwood, Tennessee. He was a member of Oral Baptist Church in Lenoir City, Tennessee. He was a graduate of South Harriman High School and a retired locomotive engineer with Norfolk Southern Railroad for which he worked from 1968 until 2001.He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Irene Ryans Grigsby, sons, Kevin Lee Grigsby and Eric Clifford Grigsby, brother, J.C. Grigsby, sister-in-law, Pat Grigsby, brother-in-law, Bill Goldston and his cat, Roxie.

He is survived by:

Daughters-in-law:       Tisha Polston Grigsby of Lenoir City, TN

Lisa Adams Grigsby of Lenoir City, TN

Grandchildren:            Ryan Lee Grigsby of Charlottesville, VA

Alexa Grigsby Shea (Rainer) of Charleston, SC

Sister:                          Carolyn Grigsby Goldston of Harriman, TN

Brother:                       Henry “Bub” Grigsby of Harriman, TN

Sister-in-law:               Gail Grigsby of Harriman, TN

His cat:                        Whitey

 

Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

 

Services for Mr. Harold E. Grigsby will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Evans Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. in the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Pastor Andrew Murray officiating. Graveside and interment will follow in Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood, Tennessee. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mr. Harold E. Grigsby.
