Elizabeth "Lib" Baisley

Mrs. Elizabeth “Lib” Baisley, age 90 of Tellico Village, passed away on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026 surrounded by her loving family at the Tennova Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. She was born on January 3rd, 1936 in Crossville, TN.

Lib and Albert, who was only ever Bert to her, were partners in business as much as in marriage, and together they did a great deal of good for a great many people in their communities. She was tough and strong willed, and never tougher than in her last years, when her many health ailments never once drew a complaint out of her. Her family was always the center of her life. After Bert was gone, she became its matriarch, and they were her reason to live.

Lib was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tellico Village.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert A. Baisley; her parents, William Kennon and Bertha Eilleen Edelman Hill; her brothers, Marvin Hill, William “Bill” Hill, Edward “Bubba” Hill, and Glenn Hill; and her sisters, Martha Dean Smith and Betty Jean Nail.

She is survived by:

Daughter: Kim Wyatt (Luke) of Kingston, TN

3 Grandchildren: Mike Baisley (Ashley)

Kyle Baisley (Whitney)

Rachel Heichelbech (Brandon)

7 Great Grandchildren, with an eighth expected

Family and friends will meet at Roane Memorial Gardens in Knoxville, TN on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. ET for a graveside service with Pastor Charlie Bernard officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be sent to the Wildwood Baptist Church in Maryville, TN or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mrs. Elizabeth “Lib” Baisley.
