Edward Arvine Buttram affectionately called "Vine" was born to the late RC Cleveland and Arvela Buttram, March 28, 1950 in Harriman, Tennessee. Arvine departed peacefully in his sleep at his home on June 4, 2025 in Rockwood, Tennessee.
Arvine was a military veteran that served his country in the United States Army. He then worked and retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in Kingston. He was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was marked by his love, laughter, and unwavering faith in God. Arvine accepted Christ at a young age and spreaded his love throughout the community by serving on the Roane County Usher Board and being apart of the American Legend Post 232. He enjoyed fishing, playing horse shoes, and putting a smile on others face with his witty humor.
Arvine was preceded in death by his mother, Arvela Buttram; his father, RC Cleveland; son, Charles Clemons; and his grandson, Tyler Powell.
His loving memory will continue to be cherished by his wife, Patricia Ann Buttram; sons, Stanley Dabbs and Dwayne (Tasha) Clemons; mother-in-law, Jane Clemons; brother-in-law, James Clemons; sister-in-laws, Kathy (Joe) Hodges; Doris (Darrel) Johnson; Betty Jackson; Tarsha (Adrain) Davis; Alice (Vance) King; and a host of special grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and friends. He was tenderly cared for by his granddaughter Tanisha Clemons.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 12:30-1:30 pm ET at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm. Graveside and interment services will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood with military honors presented by the U.S Army Honor Guard and the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mr. Edward A. Buttram.
