Dr. Michael Powers

Dr. Michael Powers, age 69 of Kingston, passed away on Thursday, May 14th, 2026, at his home. He was born on July 5th, 1956, in Georgia. Dr. Powers graduated from UT Knoxville with his bachelor degree. During his time there, he also played baritone with the Pride of the Southland Marching Band. He later attended UT Memphis School of Dentistry where he finished with his doctorate. He practiced dentistry for over 45 years. He retired in august of 2025 due to health and then enjoyed his time at home with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents: William H. Powers and Anna Jean Syler. He is survived by:

Wife: Beverly Powers

Daughter: Lydia Yoder (Josh)

Son: David Powers

Step-son: Joshua Woody & Jeremiah Woody (Jessie)

Brother: Bill Powers (Belinda)

Grandchildren: Jack, Charlie, Tyleigh, Bryson, Creed, Storm, and Elijah

Niece & Nephew: Brook & Brandon

Special Friend: Mary Clawson

and several other extended family members, friends, and his work family.

Cremation arrangements have been made and no services will be held at this time. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Dr. Michael Powers.
