Mr. Donald Ames Cain, II, also known as Don or Joe to his friends and family, age 71, a former longtime resident of Rockwood, Tennessee passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was born October 27, 1953, at Quonset Point Naval Air Station, Rhode Island. Don was a retired Communications Electronics Technician with the Tennessee Valley Authority. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Operation Desert Storm and later retired from the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a Bagpiper and former member of the Knoxville Pipe and Drum Corps where he played and once served as Pipe Major. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald A. Cain; mother, Billie Dawn Cain; and sister, Terri Hantke.

Survivors include:

Wife: Emile Cain of Smyrna, TN, former longtime resident of Rockwood, TN

Daughter: Jennifer Cain of Brentwood, TN

Son: Donald “Donnie” Cain, III of Chapmansboro, TN

Grandchildren: Ava Parkes, Maddox Parkes, and Nathan Dale

Sisters: Patti Cain of Golden, CO

Dona Jones of Moline, IL

And other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 26, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. E.D.T. until 7:00 p.m. E.D.T. at the Evans Mortuary. Military honors will be given at 7:00 p.m. E.D.T. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary by the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard and the U.S. Army. A concluding bagpipe tribute will then follow. Evans Mortuary of Rockwood, Tennessee is honored to serve the family of Mr. Cain.
