Dennis Edward Morlock

Dennis Edward Morlock, age 67, a resident of Rockwood, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Roane Medical Center, Harriman, Tennessee. He was born May 6, 1959, in Rockwood. Dennis loved his Rockwood community home, had many friends there, and could always be found riding his bicycle around town. In his younger years, he traveled a lot to different places around the country doing construction work. He was also athletic, even competing in the “Tough Man” Contest. He was an honest, respectful, and intelligent man with a kind heart. He was very determined and resourceful. Though he experienced some heartaches and struggles in life, he did not complain. Sometimes in conversation, he would share about his life experiences, and sometimes even his faith. He enjoyed Coca Cola’s, candy bars, and coffee. He was a faithful patron to several Rockwood businesses, with whom he was more like friends. Those include the girls at U.S. Bank (Rockwood), Juniors Restaurant, Shacks, Rocky Top Market, Live and Let Live Drug Store, McDonalds (Rockwood), MeMe’s Restaurant, and Walmart. Many thanks to these businesses and many other friends who have assisted Dennis and been a friend to him over the years, including the construction class at Rockwood High School that built him a house. Dennis loved his family and friends, his home and community, and his simple life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Morlock and Imogene Ashbrook Richardson; grandparents, Walter & Lou Kirkland Ashbrook; brothers, Ricky Morlock, and Stephen “Stevie” Morlock; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

And several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) until 6:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) at the Evans Mortuary. Graveside services and interment will follow on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Rockwood, Tennessee.
