Dennis Wayne Coates

Mr. Dennis Wayne Coates, age 59 of Rockwood, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. He was born on August 7, 1965. Dennis worked several jobs throughout his life, and he last worked for HT Hackney in Lenoir City. He was a star running back for Lenoir City High School during his youth. Dennis was also a competitive powerlifter, entering in several competitions and winning. Dennis liked to live a quiet, private and peaceful life, and his family members knew to not bother him during his dedicated "gym" time. He is preceded in death by his parents: Cecil M. & Laura G. Coates; brother: David Coates. He is survived by:

The family and friends will receive friends on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 12:00-1:00 pm ET at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow with Bro. Bobby Lee officiating. Graveside and interment service will follow in the Lenoir City Cemetery in Lenoir City, TN. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mr. Dennis Wayne Coates.
