Claire Marckesano, age 70, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully. Born on July 30, 1955, in Brooklyn, New York, Claire lived a life marked by her one of a kind personality, intelligence, and devotion to her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Blaise Marckesano; mother, Ann Marie Kennedy; sister, Elizabeth Marckesano; brother, James Marckesano; beloved husband, Vito Olivia; and son, Michael Mase.

Claire earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and went on to enjoy a distinguished career as a secretary for several top attorneys in New York, where she was known for her professionalism, attention to detail, and gracious spirit.

She is survived by her loving sisters Meredith Marckesano, Adrienne Breedlove, Ingrid Armellino, Regina Marckesano, and Nancy Skinner, and by her brothers Blaise Marckesano and Kevin Marckesano. She is remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Claire also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Chloe French (Chris), Michael Mase-Lafata, Francesca Mase-Lafata, great-grandchildren Rylie Gene French and Grant French, and an eagerly awaited great-granddaughter, Wesley Claire French, who will carry forward her name and memory.

A burial service will be held at Pine Lawn Memorial Park and Arboretum in New York, where Claire will be laid to rest beside her loved ones. Times will be announced once arrangements are finalized.

Claire will be deeply missed by all who knew her and will forever be remembered for her kind heart, quick wit, and unwavering love for her family.
