Mrs. Carolyn June Sisson Ledford, age 86 of Knoxville, TN formerly of Rockwood, TN passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 30, 2025. She was born on November 24, 1938 in Oliver Springs, TN to Richard Albert Sisson Jr. and Beulah Lucille Smith Sisson. She was an all region basketball player for Wartburg Central High School and she graduated from WCHS in 1956. Carolyn was a member of The Order of The Eastern Star of Chattanooga and Rockwood serving as a worthy matron. She also was a mother advisor for the Rainbow Girls of Rockwood and Brownies Troop Leader in Chattanooga. Carolyn loved every UT Vols sport that she could watch and was an avid book reader. She was thrilled every time she went to eat with her girlfriends or was able to spend time with her family. She had a few different jobs over the years ranging from, about 20 years at Roane Hosiery Mill, a couple of years at Christmas Lumber Company, Mideast Community Action Agency, and was in customer service at Belk. Carolyn will be greatly missed by all of her family and everyone that had the blessing to know her. She is preceded in death by her husband: Glenn Ledford; infant son: David Ledford; parents: Richard Sisson Jr. and Beulah Sisson; brothers: Earl Sisson, Allen Sisson, David Sisson; sisters-in-law: Irene Ledford, Pat Sisson, and Selva Ledford; brother: R.A. Sisson. She is survived by:

The family will receive friends at the First Presbyterian Church of Rockwood, TN on Saturday, November 1, 2025 2:00 pm with a funeral service immediate following, Reverend Meredith Loftis of Knoxville, TN officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Rockwood, TN. Cremation arrangements have been made and Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mrs. Carolyn June Sisson Ledford.
