Buddy Marsh, age 79, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025. He was born and raised in Rockwood. Buddy was also a member of First Baptist Church in Rockwood. He was a graduate of Rockwood High School and attended Tennessee Tech for two years before he was drafted into the Army and fought in the Vietnam War, where he was severely injured. He was the recipient of the silver star for his bravery. After spending months in the hospital in Texas & Nashville, he returned home to Rockwood and worked for the Rockwood City Police department as their dispatcher for eight years. After leaving the police department, he began his career as a farmer, raising beef cattle until 2020. He was a remarkable man and everyone who knew him loved him and thought of him as their hero. He never met a stranger.

Buddy loved helping others when he was able to do so, enjoyed spending time in the woods hunting, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was married to his high school sweetheart for 58 years and lived a full life. He was preceded in death by his parents: Noel & Emma Marsh; brother: Randy Marsh; two brother-in-laws: Henry Cole & Rolland Cisson; and mother & father-in law: Howard "Shug" Brasel and Ileen Brasel. He is survived by:

Loving Wife: Marcia Marsh

Daughter: Tonia Key (Sammy)

Son: Curt Marsh

Grandson: Trevor Marsh (Jessica)

and 2 special great grandchildren: Layla & Noah Marsh

Sisters: Donna Jean Cisson, Melanie Poole (Roger)

Brother-in-law: Dennis Brasel (Suzie)

Sister-in-law: Debbie Barnes (Frank)

and a host of special nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will meet on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00 am ET in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood for graveside service with full military honors presented by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mr. Buddy Marsh. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Rockwood or the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
