Mr. Alvin Wyatt Dannel, age 89 of Rockwood, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. He was born on September 16, 1935, in Crab Orchard. He attended Haley's Grove Baptist Church in Crab Orchard, TN. He is preceded in death by his wife: Carolyn Sue Dannel; parents: James Dannel & Julia Mae Burns Dannel; brothers: Calvin Dannel, Kenneth Dannel; sisters: Sylvia Godsey, Irene Godsey, Geraldine Smith, Inas Robertson, Edna Houston, Gladys & Agnes Sherrill, Melba Gunter. He is survived by:

Son: Thomas Matthews (Michelle)

Grandchildren: Jamie Matthews (Jenny), Amanda Hill (Ryan), Thomas Matthews Jr., and Allan Lay

Great Grandchildren: Mattie Webster, Ellie Hill, and Danny Matthews

Sister: Wilma Sherrill

and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 6:00-7:00 pm ET at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm ET. Cremation arrangements have been made and a private interment will be held at a later date. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mr. Alvin Wyatt Dannel.
